Returning washed sheets?

Has anyone had any success returning sheets that have been washed?

I ordered sheets from MW and after washing them a few times, I am very unhappy with them. The are pilling, rough, and have spots where the fibers seem pulled on them.

I would really like to return them, but the site says they won't accept returns on washed sheets.

Really, if you are unhappy with them, shouldn't you be able to get some type of refund? I thought about emailing them and telling them about it, but I don't know if that will do any good.

I bought some sheets of MW and they were terrible quality. Itchy feeling, oil would not wash out of them, and it's only slightly more expensive to find sheets that you can feel at the store (got mine at Bed, Bath, & Beyond). I've heard Massage Warehouse has pretty terrible customer service. I didn't want the hassle; I just decided it was a loss and gave them to Goodwill.

I haven't had any experience returning sheets to MW, however, if the problem didn't show up until they were washed then I think they should offer a refund/credit.

If they have poor customer service - I personally would escalate the complaint. And...if that doesn't get their attention I would find out who is in charge and write a letter. It may not hurt to mention that you are a member of a professional massage organization that has thousands of members (many of which are MW customers or potential customers)!

Pursue with MW first; if they don't provide satisfaction, dispute the charge with your credit card company.

Honestly they should accept them back. They are being sold as massage sheets, and by definition should hold up to repeated washings.

Saying that, I pay a little more and buy from Bed Bath & Beyond. They have a great return policy and will accept washed sheets! (I should know I used to work CS there! Oh the stories I could tell!!!! LOL)

I buy from the Wamsutta outlet. I don't use flannel though, I use sateen, at least 250 tc, they last great. (For warmth I use one of those soft blankets from Columbia Sportswear.) The one set of flannel that I have has held up well to repeated washing, it's from Costco.

I've also had issues with sheet returns to MW. They had changed sheet manufacturers, and I got one "good" set and three sets that did not even have hems, just the selvage edges, and the top sheet was barely large enough to cover the table. I called for an RMA, and they charged me a 10% or 15% restock fee (can't remember exactly) for all three sets, even though I had opened only one, because they said "there's nothing wrong with them, you just didn't like them."

I have purchased other items from them since and had no trouble, but I will never buy textiles there again.

I'd push this comment Talenyn made, toward them (really hard) -- it makes a LOT of sense to me. If you can't get anywhere with MW, you may want to try calling Scrip directly. I know they are all one in the same company now, but it seems like the MW calls are still directed to people who aren't quite as together as the calls going in to Scrip. It may be my few experiences only, but I try not to deal with the MW end because of poor communication over there on the few times I've called.

I will give it a shot! I agree with using Talenyn's comment. If the condition of them now shows the true quality, I'll be lucky to have them last a few months!

Thanks Pueppi, I will keep in mind to call Scrip if I can't get help from anyone at MW. Hopefully I won't have to make multiple calls.

I can't stand restocking fees.

I was just wondering how it went? I have been in contact with script co many times in the last few weeks regarding a mag. lamp I purchased through Massage Warehouse and was unhappy with. They were more than helpful with exchange/ returns.
Different product, but hopefully you had the same experience?

I haven't had a chance to call yet. I need some uninterrupted time and with a 1 year old that is hard to get, when he isn't with me I am usually working.

Next week hopefully I will have some time to call. I hope they are willing to issue at least a partial refund.

I'm glad I saw this thread. I and several of my massage buddies were about to place a large order for many sets of their deluxe flannel sheet sets from MW since they are running a special on them. Thanks to knowing of your not-so-special experience with the product, we will not be buying them.

I've been hunting for this particular link all day, because I also have an item (not massage related) that I purchased that did not live up to the quality that I expected.

If Nice Consumer doesn't get resolution, you can always go the other route.

I will agree with the comments about the flannel sheets from MW. The ones I have purchased were less than stellar. (only got two sets so not too bad of a loss.) I still use them as I don't have a huge clientel yet, but I will be looking for other brands to purchase.
I agree that they do not make them long/ wide/ deep enough. They are very snug on my table, and I have a hard time putting the bolster under the bottom sheet. It always pulls up on the sides, and then when the client turns over, the corners come up. I can't immagine how it would be with a warmer on the table also!

So true, and so dissapointing.
I bought 2 sets of cotton sheets and they are better made than the flannel, but I wonder about the wearability as they are a low thread count. We will see...

Bed Bath and Beyond has jersey beech twin sheet sets for $9.99 this week. I used my stack o' 20% off coupons and got 4 sets for $7.99 each. You all know that you can use as many BBB coupons as you want at each purchase and they never expire, right? At least that's true of the stores, I don't know about online...

I have a set from there I purchased a while ago. I wasn't thrilled with the Jersey knitt. Everything sticks to it!
They are not my favorite. I use them to cover the table when I wax now. :shock:

What sticks to it? Like skin? I don't know, because I haven't used them for massage yet. I have these sheets on my bed for a couple of years and I always found them pretty comfortable...

I use the pure beech sheets in many of my massages, and don't have a sticking problem. Could it be the oil or lotion you are using?

could have been, but I am talking lint too. They are durable though. Many washes later, they look the same as when I bought them.

I love jersey knit for beds, hate them for massage! It may be an oil issue, when I roll over in bed I'm dry! When clients roll over under the jersey knits, the sheets grab their legs and won't let go, twisting all around each individual part of each individual leg, and we waste some time detangling the strangling trauma-victim who was meant to be relaxing.

Working with the elderly, having them turn over is hard enough work for the client. Fighting the sheets is just too much. I would just DIE if someone had a heart attack on my table due to the octopus sheets! :?
