Earlier this month the Royal York hired a private investigator to monitor the movements of some of its staff and then fired 22 employees.

Staff members inside the Royal York, who did not want their names used in this story for fear of retribution, say an investigator infiltrated a group of employees who were allegedly stealing unused amenities like bottles of wine from guest chambers and conference rooms.
