Hi,
I'm keen to try out Aromatherapy and spoke to someone in my area who recommended me some oils to try. Just trying to buy some now and get going, looking forward to seeing how it goes. But a bit stuck on purchasing the oils themselves.
I read on the forums here that Essentially Oils is one of the best places to buy oils. But I'm a little confused by all the different names for certain oils (e.g. all the different Lavenders and Ylang Ylang). I assume this might be because the site is for professionals? Is there a better place for a non-professional that is affordable but still sells quality oils?
The ones I found in an organic store didn't smell so pleasant but I was wondering if maybe the organic foods in the place had just tainted them as the ones in the perfume-laden Body Shop smelt better (but they don't have a big selection). Once they're burnt in a vaporizer would the true scent of the oil come through and the therapeutic effect be as good as ones from Essentially Oils?
For the time being I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the best lavender and ylang ylang would be to get. I understand for ylang ylang these are different 'grades' and describe the intensity. Should I be starting with Ylang Ylang I ?
Also I wasn't told the amount of drops to use and my vaporizer doesn't recommend an amount either. But I read somewhere that 8 - 10 drops is for a vaporizer, is that right? I'm just getting started so I'll just be using equal drops of each of the 3 oils suggested to me by a professional, 3 drops each perhaps (May Chang, Petitgrain, Ylang Ylang).
Thanks for any help.
