a question of ethics?

Just wondering,

1) How do you guys feel about MPAs trying to upsell you from say a NR to BS? I made the mistake of going with more money than I wanted to spend and ended up leaving feeling regret. to me it was a good sign that the session wasn't worth it. Normally if the session is good I'll leave happy knowing that the money was well spent.

2) Now is it ethical for an mpa to do this? On the one hand she is just trying to make a living. On the other hand she is preying on my weakness. I'll be the first to admit that I am addicted to mps. But I think its a bit unfair for an mpa to push the issue after one has said no once (this was not the case in my sitch).

3) Now lets extend this question to the mp owners. Should they allow someone in if they have a problem? I mean a bartender would probably be looked down upon for serving an alcoholic a drink. Granted how's the mp owner to know that you have a problem.

I can certainly see both sides of the arguement so I wanted to extend this questions to the massageplanet.net community.

If I go into future shop not planning on buying anything and they "persuade" me into buying a TV, is the salesman responsible for my choice ?

Pushy salesmen can be annoying if you know what you want, but by the same token you may want to know what's available.

Sorry frankcastle, but there's too much of this blaming other people crap in today's day and age. Is it ethical - HELL YES! That's there job - not to make sure we have a pleasant day, but to make as much money as possible, as is the purpose of everyone in commission sales. Now how do you accomplish this - by pleasing the customer, so as the respected Paul/IT has said, it is up to the girl to provide the service that she promises. But the question of ethics went out the window the minute that you walked through the door of a MP.

While it may not be a weakness the client is definitely at a disadvantage when being upsold. I know that IT and a few others do it in such a manner that is very casual and no pressure (from what I've read and experienced at least) however very few of these places are run like your establishment.

When purchasing any service the customer is usually at an advantage because they have the freedom to investigate the market. But when your lying naked on a table with a beautiful woman standing there naked your pretty much a captive audience. It's like going to the barber and in the middle of the haircut and being upsold (??) You need the barber to finish the haircut and you really want it to look nice. If giving him more money for the good gel is going to ensure his best effort than I'm thinking if I refuse, I maybe asking for his second best.

I don't spend $120-150 on my haircuts so my desire for the best possible session is financial and pretty much an ROI thing. Why doesn't the MPA just give the list up front and let the client know that if at any point he would like to upgrade just to let her know.

I admitted that I played a key part in the whole thing. I am accepting responsibility for the money spent and the decision that I made. So no I'm not shifting the blame. My question was about once the client has selected a service and repeatedly declined another service they shouldn't be pressured or made to feel that they made the wrong choice. E.g. "oh is that all you want," "that's too bad," "we could have a lot more fun." "are you sure," etc. As this continued I started to feel that maybe I wouldn't be getting a good NR out of it. Then the BS turned out to be a mailed in and uninspired performance. No I wasn't expecting high mileage or anything like that but I have experience many fine slides and this wasn't one of them. Had the experience been good I would have left feeling fine but since it wasn't I left feeling pissed that I was suckered into a crappy massage.

I went to a spa ages ago on Wellsely, saw a fairly attractive attendant. After the flip, she asked me what extras I wanted. I asked her price (I hate surprises afterwards) and her quote was higher than average. I declined, but she wouldn't stop badgering me. I have no problem paying for extras, but when they are out of whack for the market, I decline.
I sensed that I was not going to obtain a satisfactory ending without paying the requested fee, so despite my misgivings, forked over the extra $$$. I left not feeling like I had a worthwhile session.

The MPAS I have seen the price is the same for a N/R or B/S

so no need to upsell.

This is why I now stick to places like HFH. The girls (alright T) always ask upfront what you want. None of this half way thru bull. I don't like MPAs that offer the services halfway thru. But again, its poor customer service, not a matter of ethics.

I was recently told that the higher $$ service is much better and she wanted to do that more. I said its ok I will sit with my choice, she pouted, said its better to have service she likes and she will enjoy it . I was upset, massage over, service to start and she is suggesting that anything but the higher $$ service, she will not be happy and thus neither will I.. I went with it.. thinking otherwise my time and door fee was wasted already. Wasnt happy about it.

I had a similar experience that the MPA was trying to give me a much higher price tag, when I told her what I usually paid, she told me " why don't you go back to see such MPA"

Recipe for a good session:

When it's time for extras put the girl in a good mood by asking her what she would like and feel comfortable doing, don't ask how much it will cost, this will almost guarantee a good session, I find mentioning money in what we would like to turn into an intimate encounter puts a damper on things , wouldn't you agree? I mean the most you're going to get ripped off is what $20-$40 ? If it's not a good session simply don't repeat that's all.
