Dear Calmer
I have been treating a lady with lymphoedema for about three years now. She was registered dissabled and was bed ridden when I first met her. Obviously she was not happy with her lot and needed help fast. Unfortunately the 'fast' bit doesn't happen with lym drainage. I started treating her twice a week with MLD and after about a year I put on my Personal Trainer head and get her out walking. At first she could only manage a short distance - 2 1/2 minutes for me but 1 hour for her to complete the course! She is now walking twice a day for 30-45 minutes each time. She has improved her health and has now started to take control of her high BP. Her angina is still a problem as is her diabetes and IBS. Still, she is feeling much better now and her training is on going. I now massage her with MLD once a month.
Any help?
