I should probably start by introducing myself. I'm a chiropractor, and my fiancee is a newly qualified massage therapist and aromatherapist.
I have a patient at the moment who I am beginning to help with treatment, but there's a lot of muscular involvement, and stress. She's holding down 2 jobs and is still in education (jobs are nursery school, and property developing, and she's in teacher training).
She's also aobut to start her 4th cycle of IVF (over a 1 year period).
As part of my treatment regime, I would normally start introducing massage after another treatment or two of chiropractic, and would strongly advice aromatherapy to help with the stress, relaxation etc. My fiancee has yet to treat a pregnant patient, let alone someone going through IVF, and is concerned of damaging her chances of conception, and the health of any foetus.
We've done a fair bit of research, through various text books and online, and the general answer seems to be "no idea, but I wouldn't risk it" which is simply not a good enough justification. I see no reason why it might, and can find no research on it through Medline etc. does anyone on here have any thoughts? or suggestions for any oils that might help her in terms of fertility etc as well as relaxation and pyschological support
