at what point do you introduce to your parents?

I'm 21. I met this guy last week, and we've gone out twice. My dad wants to meet him.

I hardly know new guy myself, please tell me I'm not totally unreasonable thinking it's weird for my dad to want to meet a guy I'm not even in a relationship with...
I should add he's upset because this guy has "met" my mom- but I live with her and she just happened to be there when he showed up. I didn't make a point of having him meet her, it just happened. My dad feels left out. (I don't live with him)

I just think this guy would go running in the other direction if I asked him to meet my dad so soon!

I've been with my husband for about eleven years, and he still hasn't met my parents.

My parents have only met my boyfriends / guys that Ive talked to because I was living at home at the time.. and the boys picked me up there! Had I been living on my own, it would have taken a few weeks at the very least.

So, nope.. not unreasonable at all

You are not being unreasonable. Tell your dad what you just told us.
Asking the guy to meet your dad so soon may be a bit much for him too.
Are you or your family having a cookout or something like that for the 4th or sometime this summer? It wouldn't be unreasonable to invite your guy to something like that. Then your dad can meet him.

I would say at the point where you think the relationship might be serious.

After just two dates meeting your dad would probably scare the guy. )

I didn't introduce my parents to my husband until after we were engaged. They had a history of being really critical of what ever relationship their children were in and I didn't want to "go there" with them. It wasn't worth it if our relationship wasn't going to last. I was kinda like "I'm marrying this guy, if you don't like it, it's your problem......" Surprisingly, they like my husband, I was shocked. They hated both my siblings' spouses with a passion.
