attention getting advertising copy for print ads

Hi all,

I am advertising on the front page of the local paper two times in the week before xmas. It is a xmas count down box. I am advertising for online sales.

I want something catchy and attention getting for a headline. I suggested 'shop in your underwear' and then in smaller print underneath something like 'buy the gift of relaxation from the comfort of your home. Visit http://www.blahblahblah.com....' list that I accept credit cards, etc...

The sales woman said she didnt think the editor would allow the word underwear in the ad. Pajamas or PJ's was suggested instead.

Procrastinators Paradise
Holiday Shopping From Home
Last Minute Gift Shopping From Home

Any other catchy phrases you can help me out with??

I like "Shop In Your PJ's!" (Good advice from the newspaper lady. I think using the word underwear would be a mistake).

It might give the wrong impression about your practice though.

My vote is the pj one, it's catchy and fun.

What you think & what potential customers think can be quite different, though. Advertising is about them.

Hi Tia,

You'll want to lead with a powerful headline. As I tell my consulting clients, you don't want to be cute. You want to be compelling and grab their attention with a strong benefit.

For example, say you wanted to promote holiday gift certificate sales. You could use a headline in your holiday newspaper ad like:

How To Finish Your Holiday Shopping... In Less Than 10 Minutes!

Massage gift certificates are the perfect gift for the special people on your holiday list. This year, take advaneforum.xxxe of our special holiday gift certificate deal {rest of your ad}.
