i would like some suggestions on marketing the autism population with my massage. the reason being when i was going to massage school i started doing massage on one of my occupational therapy client that is dx autism on the side and i can see the great effects it has on this child. i want to offer this to other families that may have a family member that is autistic. thanks, carrie
My son is a high-functioning autistic. آ He has been diagnosed with ADHD, Tourette Syndrome, and Asperger's Sydrome. آ Of course, he gets plenty of massage therapy, as well as chiropractic adjustments, and it helps tremendously! آ He has not been on Ritalin for his ADHD at all this summer, and has only had a few meltdown moments, none of which were ever serious. آ There are many resources for parents of children who are ADHD, and have Autism, Tourette syndrome, and Asperger's syndrome (all of which are closely related to one another, seperated only by a thin line). آ Why not write a web article and forward the link to some of the support websites available on the net?Also, just wanted to mention that when you massage a child such as this, using heavy draping such a thick blankets, and some of those products that are like herb filled bean bags that can be heated in the microwave are very helpful. It isn't the warmth, but the WEIGHT that is very comforting to them.
