best friend NEVER calls im chats or texts me first?

ok so me and on of my best friends have been friend for 6 years (we are sophs now) anyway we have always been a lil competive agains eachother and i ALWAYS have to contact her first or else we dont talk. so for the last 2 weeks i got fed up with reaching out first and have not contacted her at all i thought maybe shed reach out but she isnt its always like this and its not like we hate eachother its a power play ...what should i do
thanks so far everybody but its like we are not in a fight at all its just this is how she is like if i texted her we'd be coool as usual the convo would be like"omg havent talked to you in forever"

This is a problem two of my friends have, but they just take it as a joke. My thoughts are that you should just go with it, just be the one to reach out to your friend first. Sometimes, that's just how people are and you have to learn to cope with it. Especially if it's your best friend.
But, if you feel really unsatisfied with that, then stop reaching out to your friend for a while. And when you think you've held her out long enough, confront your friend about the problem. Tell her how you feel about it, and see how she responds. However, if you decide to go with that solution, you have to be wary of the consequences and inevitable conflicts.

I would text her right now. I did that once. My best friend, whos sooo much like me, we got into a small fight, and i waited for her to text me and say im sorry because i didnt want to, but then i realized that since my friend and I are sooo much alike, shes probably thinking the same thing. So i ended up texting her, and we got over it lol.

So, just text her right now and be like "Lets not fight anymore its stupid." which to me it is.

LOL I'm kindah like that too. I never (rarely) call or text someone first. It's not because I don't wanna talk to them...I'm just like that.

yeah i feel that way with one of my friends. i mean the other day after she heard i was crying she didnt even care to start a convo and ask me why or like if i felt better or soemthing idk. so i dont start conversations with her anymore lol. we talk in person, occasionally but ah nothing i can do about it. i have other friends so does she, she clearly doesnt rle care whether i talk to her or not. she's really popular tho, i guess she just doesnt have time for me baha except for occaisionally but lately whenever she does talk to me (rarely) lik the other day she came up to hug me and i didnt hug her back loll.i guess we arent really best friends anymore..cuz shes to busy with her other friends and bf. nothing i can do about that. i'll just hang out with my friends that actually care about me lol. im not too bothered aaha even the other day people were saying it seems like somedays she;ll just ignore you so w/e lool. i;m a freshman btw, i dont rle care about friends anymore, just trying to get through these years of high school (Y).

if you really wanna talk to her, talk to her. if not just talk to other people, eventually she'll realise tht you dont talk to her anymore.
