Can someone please tell me how to permanently remove the Facebook Chat feature...

...from my Facebook page? Every time I log on to Facebook I am shown as "available to chat". I can turn it off to become "unavailable" but sometimes I forget and start getting messages from people. I never use it anyway, so I would like to permanently remove this feature. PLEASE ADVISE!!! Thanks in advance.

Not possible, sorry. I have been able to "Turn Off" the chat feature with success. You can prevent People from chatting with you by limiting your availability. Try creating a "fake" friends list with nobody on it and only be available to the empty list of friends for chat adn everybody else is prevented from chatting with you.

To prevent a friend or group of friends from calling or chatting with you:
1.Create a friend list that includes the people you’d like to prevent from chatting with you. You can also use any existing friend list you’ve created (Only if you want those friends to be available for chat)
2.Click in the bottom right corner of the messaging sidebar
3.Select Limit Availability
4.Check the box next to the friend list you don’t want to be available to chat with and click Close. You can also select “Only make me available to:â€￾ from the menu and check off the friend lists you want to be able to chat with - like your empty list of 'friends".

Sorry, but you'll have to keep on making yourself unavailable to chat. There is no way to remove chat.
