Carrier oils

Hi all,

What difference (apart from the price) is there on supermarket sweet almond oil/grapeseed oil etc as opposed to aromatherpy shop oils?

Trusted supplier of purity and theraputic value.
Most oils in supermarkets are cosmetically commercial unless they are a well known aromatherapy brand and oils that are from these well known therapy quality companies do have certificates to state what quality they are.

Some therapy insructors say they is no harm in using a good quality oil from supermarket but I prefer to use a brand that has been certificated for therapy.

Grapeseed is the least messed about carrier. You can buy that anywhere. For other carriers, go to a specialist supplier.

I started to go grapeseed only after what I had heard of all the shananigans (from many suppliers). But I then had a client who was allergic to grapes...lucky I still had some sweet almond.

I totally agre with kcamiss. It's wiser to buy from trustful suppliers and not from supermarkets. When you buy essential oil from a shop, you take the risk to buy adulterate EOs with less therapeutic value.
