SOUTHINGTON — Starting today, Southington Library will offer chair massages with advanced massage therapy students as part of its Relax, Rejuvenate and Read program.
Free massages will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. by Branford Hall Institute’s Advanced Massage Therapy students as guests relax and read one of 100,000 books at the library.
Chair massages will also be offered Sept. 6, 13, 20 and 27 at the same time. The sessions are open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis. No specific times will be scheduled. Sessions will be 10 to 15 minutes long, depending on the number of people waiting.
Infant and child massage will also be offered but parents must be present during the time of massage for anyone under 18. The client remains fully clothed at all times. Modifications can be made to those who are uncomfortable or are unable to properly sit in a massage chair.
