colours for the room

Hi, I would really value some advice as to what colours should go on the walls for IHM and relaxation. I am setting up a room for clients and am not sure whether to go all white with a block colour or to use colours all over the walls.

Pink. Reason is I worked for a firm that had loads of complaints and there was a designated pink room to de-stress these unfortunates. If it de-stresses the irate then it must work well for those seeking a massage.

You'll find some VERY divergent opinions! At the end of the day I think it comes down to personal choice.

Hi and thank you both for your replies. It is sooooo difficult to get things right when starting out.

I think I will go for the pink with some lilac and cream for contrast. Then put accessories in with these colours to keep the warm and the flow, such as candle holders, oil burners etc

Perhaps I may alienate the male clientwith such femanine colours though. Do you think this would be a problem?

Thank you for the earlier postings by people, I really enjoyed reading them. The reds sounds georgeous and to my taste but I don't think that I am that brave!!!

How about introducing a little of a more 'masculine' colour for balance, eg navy blue? For accessories, maybe not a whole wall. Would go nicely with the pink/lilac scheme you have in mind, IMHO anyway.

and have great fun playing around with the onscreen room (click on either of the two walls and the ceiling) and the paint charts on the right. The categories of colour there are very similar to some of the Dulux special ranges you can get mixed up at any of the DIY superstores ... Heritage, Shaker etc ... though I have to say the idea of fume-free eco-friendly paint does appeal to me for when I need to redecorate.

Wow, I have played for ages!! Thank you so much for all you have done, I really appreciate it. I will have a look in the shops for the eco paint as I am sure that I have seen it somewhere..... I have migraines so this paint would be marvelous if it has less fumes.

The bunny is smiling and in the pink!!!!

I went for a subtle shade of pink on two walls and cream on the other two. I have put in blue accessories, along with a darker pink and the cream.
I have also put up two largish pictures of a cream flower head on the pink walls. I have put in green foliage plants also, real ones I thought were best (I have been to a couple of places where they had plastic). Hope this sounds an inviting place as I am quite pleased with it and I thank you both for your encouragement.
