You may need to look at your course notes to find what 'they' list as contra-indications. Not sure how you are expected to 'identify' anything, as we are not qualified diagnosticians (apologies to the doctors reading this!) If, whilst going through a consultation with a client, they were to mention a condition that you know is a contraindication, you would have to tell them that you cannot treat them until you have either contacted their GP for permission, or they themselves see their GP to ask if treatment is OK. It is a very difficult area. Some GP's do not respond to enquiries from comp therapists, so you then have to come to an arrangement with the client. However, if you feel that you could cause more harm than good, then always err on the side of caution and do not treat.
