Denise & Arthur Spa Review

Ok, I see that there is some flaming going on in other threads so I wanted to start a new one. I hope I have some legitimacy on this board by now so I will give a fair review as I see it.

After seeing the website and Denise's pictures I became interested. I tried calling ahead to book an appointment and the guy answering the phone informed me that they do not take appointments and operate on a "First-Come-First-Serve" basis and to call when I was in the neighbourhood to see if she was available at that time. I don't really like that but they do not have the same demand as HFH or IT yet so it wasn't a problem. The spa is in an office building (the one with Select Sandwiches) in it on the 3rd floor (307). You know what suite it is by the security camera in the ceiling outside the front door. The is no plaque indicating the spa's name so you should remember the number if you go during the day.

The spa itself was small but cozy and clean. Not in BP's league but easily on par with HFH, IT, Allure, B&S, etc. The pictures with the girls (if you look behind them at the decor) accurately reflects the spa. The rooms are about the same size as most other spas. They are clean and private. Clean white towels that are large (bath sheets) and fairly soft, a white bathrobe is also offered.

I felt the Door Fees were Steep:
30 Minutes: $50
45 Minutes: $75
60 Minutes: $100

Denise: She is gorgeous in person, the nurses outfit is nice. About 5'9" when not wearing heals and over 6' with. She's got that nack where when she smiles she roles the eyes slightly and turns the head - charming really. BE WARNED - She speaks almost no English execpt for some key words so if you don't know Russian you could have a problem. Her massage needs some work, she eventually got into some deep muscle massaging but she needed to use more oil (started to rub the skin away) and her overall technique could use some improvement. She's worth a repeat overall but I need to learn some Russian first.

I will not discuss extras here nor in PM so please do not ask.

P.S. Nancy was the other choice I could have gone with and although I've never seen her before I'd swear she is the same Nancy at Alden Club based upon what I've heard and the pictures I remember from Alden.

I agree the door fee seems a little high, maybe to offset the Nurse's uniforms? Market forces will dictate whether they remain high or come down.

I had a very good session with her recently. I went late, so she was tired, the start was weird and mechanical, but she does give a good firm massage (but Hornets right, more cream to stop the skin peeling). But by the end, I had one of the best massage sessions I ever had. I went for 30 minutes, but stayed for like 40-45 minutes not counting the shower and wait. For me Denise is a definate repeat.

Just to let you all know - Shelly is no longer blonde - she's brunette. The girls there do get tired - Shelly works a full shift every day - you do the math. I understand that Denise does the same. Nancy and Olga , I think, only work 5 days/week. I have had the pleasure of having Nancy - at Alden and at Arthur, Denise and Shelly. They are all quite good, in their own way. To me, if you've ever had Nancy, she's getting worse, service-wise - I think she's getting jaded, whereas Shelly - when she's not tired, is very good, but Denise, wow, she knows what she's doing! Of course, as usual, YMMV.
