Diffusers-aroma not sufficient!

Help. I have bought 2 electric diffusers (aroma steam) for my place of work. The instructions state 1 drop on each segment, i have been placing 2 drops on each (citrus oils) and still the aroma does not last even one hour. Does anyone have any experience of these diffusers, should i use even more oil?

The diffuser is probably working fine, and you do not need more oil. It is simply the case that after 1 hour you have become used to the aroma that you are no longer sensitive to it. If someone who had not yet been in the room were to come in they wouldbe able to smell the oilsyou had been diffusing.

It could be you don't notice it after a while or it could be you are using the Aroma Stone incorrectly.Is it one of the shallowwhite ones withcircular ridges on it and straight sides? If it is and if you are not using it with water, citrus oils should be placed near the edge where it is cooler than in the middle of the burner. Or you could use it with water, that usually slows down the evaporation rate. They used to give out quite detailed instruction with this model about where to place different oils on the dish.
I'm not familiar with the newer rounder ones, but the same element design may be used, so it might be worth trying placing the oils out towards the edge, or trying it with water.

It could very well just be your nose becoming used to the smell after an hour, just the same way some people will pile on the perfume and then they think it's down to a nice subtle note and every one else thinks they reek.

Thanx Rich. This is what i thought, that it was me but i work ina dental practise and patients are not noticing the smell either! I fear my boss will start to question why he is spending money on aromatherapy to improve the practise if things are going unnoticed. How often should one reapply the oil? The practise is open 8am till 8pm.

You stop noticing a fragrance after you get used to it. This works well. Use the Ambipur 3volution, but pour aromatherapy oils into the bottles instead of buying refills. It rotates the fragrance every 45 minutes.
