What are the effects of burning incense on household plants?

I just won a young Gerbera (African Daisy) that is presently sitting by my windowsill on the opposite side of the sill where I burn my incense. Does burning incense have a positive effect on plant growth and development?[/align]
 
An interesting poser...
I assume that should the chemicals emmitted by the incense stimulate the receptors in the plant, then I suppose it would affect it. I don't know but it reminds me that when your neighbour cuts the grass, your grass goes into stress mode and grows quicker. The name of this chemical messenger escapes me at the mo.

Do an experiment perhaps.
 
Thanks for the reply mysterious.. I somehow missed track of this thread and had just looked at it.. Well I did burn a few incenses and my plant didnt seem to mind them as the fumes were not much strong
