F1 is in Saudi Arabia this weekend
A woman travelling to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix had her adult toy confiscated at the airport.
The girlfriend of an F1 engineer was left red-faced in the airport as she was stopped and searched upon arrival in Jeddah, and had her sex aid taken off her after being unaware they are banned in the country.
Under Islamic law, adult toys are deemed as โpornographic materialsโ and are banned in the Middle East country. The ban also caught out another female employee in the paddock.
The employee had her โmessage wandโ investigated by security after touching down in Jeddah. The unnamed 27-year-old told The Sun: โI went through passport control and got my luggage but was stopped by security who said my bag needed extra searching.

โThey put it through the scanner and told me my โmassage wandโ and Lipton ice tea drinks in my suitcase needed searching. This was in a public space with other tourists and passengers from my plane also getting extra searches!"
She claimed a male security guard came over to look at the โmassage wandโ before the F1 employee requested a female guard instead.
She added: โI asked if we could please do this in a private space as I didnโt want it on show for all of the world to see!

โShe put it in a more discreet bag and it was taken off to a side room for more investigating while I was told to sit and wait. I waited nervously because I thought they might interrogate me for prostitution or sex trafficking.
โThen the original female security employee came out and said I was free to go and that I could actually KEEP it. Her words were โsome massage wands arenโt allowed here but this one is ok, have a fun trip!'"

Four-time world champion Max Verstappen qualified on pole for Sundayโs race, with McLarenโs Oscar Piastri in P2.
The major shock from Saturdayโs session saw championship leader Lando Norris crash in Q3, and he will start in P10. The Brit extended his championship lead in Bahrain but is only three points ahead of Piastri after the Aussieโs win last weekend.
Verstappen is eight points behind Norris, whilst Mercedesโ George Russell, who starts in P3, is fourth in the standings, just 14 points behind Norris.
