Violate! What a great word to describe your trip. First thing that you need to know about T.J is that it's not America. T.J is a very friendly and happy place if you know what your doing. There are a couple of things that you need to know.
Safety: Safety in any country should be your prime concern. Don't go to T.J with your Sundays best! Wear what you would wear to go to the market. You can walk from the Zona Norte back to the US morning and day but not at night. Save a 5 US for taxi. You could walk back to the US but not advised. Muggers and banditos are know to prey on tourists. I myself have walked at night a few times but, not without me looking for shadows. I would say those walks were from my stupid actions of spending the last $ on some puta. Oh well, I guess in time you learn. Some people may/will come up to you and tell you he can take you to some place. Don't go with him. Always act and walk like you have a sense of direction. People tend to notice if your a lost tourist . No need to rent a car because in zona norte all the clubs are within walking distance but if going to revo from the zona take a cab. I always walk but thats me.
Polica: Polica are sometimes looking for mordidas or a bribe. Not all T.J cops are bad. I never had a shakedown on me. The polica can stop and search you at will. No consent! They could also come in the club and shakedown everybody in the club. Never seen this before but stories are told about it and the polica can do that. Never give into the polica if your in the right. Take down his name and report him. Always tell him you want to talk to the judge and insist on it. They know that word in english. Reports have also been taken that in la zona they have undercover polica. Don't worry about it if you didn't do anything wrong nevertheless, mind your own business. Weed could be found easily on revo or in la zona. If you get shookdown by the polica you will go to jail. Don't carry the goods around with you and hide and smoke it in the room of the hotel.
Hawkers: These guys usually wearing white long sleeve shirts in front of the clubs. Mostly on Revolucion blvd. There job is to get you in to the club to see the show. In the past these guys have gooten me goods. Don't always trust them and never pay up front. Don't buy on the street... too many eyes out there. Some people will just come upto and ask you what you need. Your choice but, I feel best getting the goods in one of the stripclubs. As for me , I just bring my goods in from SoCal since, I live there.
Tijuana is a fun place and well worth the visit for that hot latina ass. I love you T.J
