Believe half of what you see, and none of what you hear. Okay, that may be overly cynical, but sift through the dross and pay attention to authenticity and you can extract value from this site.
And the best lesson I learned was from my Dad who told me to worry about the donut and not the hole. Bird in the hand, want what you have vs having what you want... etc, etc, etc.
That being said there are some real high rollers active here, but the real question is whether the frequency of their hobbying is something to be admired or desired. Addiction is a real issue for too many here, and for those less well situated, it can be a real problem and as mentioned above effect one's life balance and priorities.
I struggle with the addictive aspect of this hobby, for me it is not a search for constant novelty or trophy hunting or insatiable physical urges. I am one of the fortunate ones who doesn't see the financial costs of the hobby as onerous, in fact my problem is I find the best ladies provide real value for money versus the other professionals I am fated to deal with in my daily dealings. But it's the time spent that could be spent otherwise, the attention and focus that is inordinately expended that's the real cost in my not so humble opinion.
Time is all we have really, so aim for a balance that makes sense for you. But try to be honest with yourself, first and foremost, then proceed from there.
