Full PMs Boxes - Your Opinion/Suggestions Please !!

I would like to know what people think about my suggestion ( make email accounts visible ) as a means of dealing with the PM problem.


It seems to me we have to find a way of redirecting PM traffic to individuals' email accounts ?

Also asking people to maintain ( read EMPTY ) their PM boxes doesn't seem to be working ?

I agree with Benrath.
Give everybody a little notice, so they have time to activate whatever accounts they want to use, and then go ahead with the email solution. And as new people sign up, just add in a little explanation in the sign-up instructions that is how it works.

Any way to empty the PM boxes from the administrative end?
or give the culprits ample notice, and then delete them if they don't clear them out.

Just delete old e-mails after a certain number of days (30?) and give people the option of forwarding messages to a private Yahoo! or Hotmail or whatever e-mail account.

I so totally do NOT want another e-mail I have to try to rescue from the deluge of Hotmail spam!

1. An email notification that "xx" tried to send you a PM but your box was full.

2. An option in the messaging UI to select a message to forward to an email account or download.

limit the # of pms a user can get say 10...

and the rest go to their email addy...

if they don't come on massageplanet.net but see messages in their inbox...it would let them know that their massageplanet.net account is full...

would keep the amount of overall pms down and make users more accountable to upkeep their massageplanet.net account as well as their personal email...

If someone has a full PM and is too lazy to clean it out, flash a message indicating that they won't be able to post or responde until they clean it up. If the account is inactive for 60 days, send an e-mail to the person. If no response has been received within 90 days, LOCK EM UP.
