Dogs just love being petted. That human touch showing love and affection is something all canines thrive on, regardless of breed. Belly rubs, head scratches, and gentle ear nudges bring our fur babies joy.
We can usually tell when our precious pups are truly enjoying their mini massages. Whether it's a heavy sigh or that zen expression on their face that says "yup, that's the spot", our pampered pooches don't keep their satisfaction a secret.
In the TikTok from @reefthegolden, a very relaxedGolden Retriever named Reef was lying on the couch enjoying a gentle rub down. Nestling his stuffed animal (a monkey), the canine cutie took an extra moment to pause when a particular area of his neck was massaged.
"When da massage is just too good," the onscreen text read as the look on Reef's face communicated his tranquility.

"The most beautiful dog in this world," one remarked.
"Reefy the most fluffy and smooshy boy," a fan shared.
"Omg he's like a Teddy bear," another pointed out.
"He is so squishy!" a follower raved.
Canine massages can have potential health benefits. Though there isn't much scientific data, massages are known to increase lymphatic fluid flow, improve circulation, and soothe sore muscles. A gentle back and body rub can be very calming for dogs and assist in the functioning of internal organs.

Senior dogs often have aches and pains we may not be aware of, where massage can relax those tender areas that cause stiffness. It's also a wonderful way to bond with your pup since they can never get enough affection.
Reef looked quite relaxed and most likely enjoyed the rest of his spa treatment. Maybe he should invest in a massage table.
