Green Earth Massage Sheets (GEMS) are the original ultra light massage linens designed to alleviate the common plight of bodyworkers: the wasteful and time consuming laundering fiasco. I searched the forum and didn't come up with anything. I'd be interested in everyone's thoughts. I am thinking of purchasing a set to try out.

Hi folks, thanks for your interest in my new product...GEMS! My name is Pam Flowerday, and I am a 14 year veteran of the spa and massage industry and got really sick of washing and drying sheets 24/7. Prior to my work bodywork career, I was a fundraiser in the environmental conservation field. I was worried about all of the waste associated with laundering massage sheets. So I came up with GEMS. It took me 5 years to find the best ultra light fabric for my massage sheets, but finally found a microfiber I really liked and so did my clients. It is 60 grams per square meter or three times as light as flannel and twice as light as regular cotton or microfiber fabrics on the market. They fit 12-20 sets per load and dry super fast...saves lots of time, money, energy and water. Hmmm....there does seem to be some confusion there! :

The sheets sound interesting, though, if a bit pricey for my "still a student" budget, but if they last, I'd be interested in them too. If anyone tries them, let us know what you think!

Wow. We'd only need to wash twice per week at the clinic, versus upwards of twice per day! The cost up-front is expensive, but as long as they last, we can make up for the difference in the long-run, and in the short-term, we'd be using less energy. Sounds like a winning arrangement, to me.

I am looking forward to hearing from someone who has used them.

I had ordered a dozen of - hmmm, name escapes me this morning...Peace Linen or Inner Peace?
flannel sheets.
These are lighter weight flannel - same concept, to be able to launder more per load.
However - these are NOT my cup of tea.
They are just too small to even cover my table now because they keep shrinking. So for the majority of my clients, who are larger, they are useless.
And I don't want to use sheets that are see-thru.
And I don't like sheets made from jersey. or t-shirt material because they stick to the client when they turn over.

So yeah, I'm not a fan of laundry either...but for me, I can't compromise the quality of what I put on my table.

Just got my white set in from Pam yesterday evening.

She'll be sending me a set of the green ones (which are a little different consistency than the white ones) in the near future when they arrive at her place.

I'll be writing a review to post sometime in Feb., after I've tried them and washed them a few times.

Just a little note on my experience with jersey sheets (since squash_blsm mentioned them), on top of them sticking to clients, mine got all skewed and warped in the wash so they're not straight and look all twisted on the table.

Good point! That happened to my husband's set. He isn't a massage therapist; they were just really popular in college. I still have his set and mine, and I use them for my portable table. I try to work with the skew, or throw a blanket on top of it, which the client can request be taken off during treatment. As for sticking, I've either not had a problem with it, or I never noticed. My money's on not having noticed it.
