As some may know from a thread I interrupted, my GF and I sold our house, pretty much all of our belongings, and we moved to Portugal. We don't own a car here, and have no plans to buy one. We take trains between cities/towns.
Our place wasn't ready on the date it was supposed to be, which is a common occurrence here, so we just stayed in Lisbon for an extra two weeks. We had new flooring and some other things done prior to moving in, and contractors move very slowly here - but so does everyone, and that is a positive to me.
We also got married! We've been a couple for a looooong time, but never bothered doing the legal thing. While it's more than possible to immigrate to the EU as a common-law couple, even in 2024, being legally married does make things go much smoother. So, just before leaving Canada, we got hitched. Finally, lol.
