Has anyone ever tried pure oud?

Also known as oudh or agarwood, is a precious oil extracted out of some tree infected by as fungus that takes many of years to produce an unique smell. Arabs go nuts for it, they even like to burn the tree’s resin on hot coal, kind of goes without saying that is pretty much extinct. Oud is suppose to have complex scent along with a high price tag. Though is used as a perfume on it’s own mostly is also suppose to have amazing qualities as an essential oil.

I can’t help to wander how it is, if anyone has had the luck to try it please do tell.

I went to Oman in 1983, and this stuff was used in a perfume factory I visited - the smell was sublime, but the ingrediants were prohibitively expensive, as it was so difficult to find. Back then, to buy the perfume, it cost hundreds of pounds per fluid ounce. I was given a teeny tiny bottle of their other favourite perfume - Amouage - equally exotic ingredients.
