I can highly recommend them. The price is much cheaper than more up-market sauna places; but the trade-offs are inconsistent service standard (ranging from excellent to downright poor) & low hygeine standards. You will receive better service at a red-rope-type place but won't be able to go as often if you're on a tight budget.

I usually suggest putting your hotel's business card in your pocket, taking
RMB Y300 with you one night, and going for a long walk along the quieter streets of Shanghai. Have a smoke and a drink at a local bar along the way; in the meantime, keep and eye out for a nice shop with friendly girl and go inside. After you've finished at the BBS, stop a taxi, show the driver your hotel's business card and he'll take you back to your hotel for a long hot shower.

I been using Craiglist in various locations, also on Shanghai some weeks ago. No problems. Very good prompt service from agency and the price has been absolutely same as they advertise. Recommend to take 2 hours to save on taxi costs.
Don't know how it works with invidual adverts. Pics might be fake and after all there could be same agency behind most of the adverts.
