how much do you charge?

can anyone help me I have just qualified in Aromatherapy Massage, and wish to go mobile can anyone give me any suggestions on how much I should be charging clients for treatments as I dont want to over charge

You also don't want to under charge and make a loss especially as you need to take into account travel and set up time . a 7:00 pm appointment for an hour could easily take you 1 1/2 to 2 hours depending on hour far you travel and will cost you money in petrol , car insurance, road tax etc.

You should do some research in your area and find out what the going rate is .
Around here it is approx £30 per hour . but salons will charge much more and I do know of some who charge less.

And there is a legitimate case for adding a couple of pounds for the essential oils you use. You can work out the cost per drop of each of your oils and see what the average cost of a blend is and work from there. Aromatherapists tend to use more/ more exoctic carrier oils too - jojoba , avocado etc and this will take this into account.

You do need to work out how much you need to charge in order to make a living........

£30 is the going rate just about everywhere, it seems. Sometimes even more.

If you undercharge, people will think you are offering an inferior service, (strange how the human mind works!), and may go for someone who charges a bit more.

You've worked hard to get your qualification, and invested time, effort and emotion into it. Don't sell yourself short.

Definitely depends on where you are. Here in the London suburbs, £30 is probably the minimum - best to check to see what others in the area are charging.

Here in the North we charge 30-35 for an hour at the Centre. So charge at least that for mobile as remember you will take twice as long (though not saying charge twice as much!) But bear in mind your travel costs and your extra time. I did it for a while in London two years ago and charged 30 but was just starting out. A one hour appointment took two hours there what with traffic.
