...worried. What should I do? I have a 30 gallon tank for my house gecko/chit-chat gecko (which ever you prefer) and my male brown anole. I don't know what her gender is, but after we got her, my dad said he was "mating" with her, and we came to the conclusion that she is female. He started doing this with great frequency after we got her (they were originally in a 10-gallon). Finally, we put them in a 30 gallon so that hopefully Stumpy (the alone) would leave Gizmo (the gecko) alone.
She used to roam around the tank a lot, but now she just hides in the hole in the log we have in the tank, rarely roaming the tank, and sometimes playing around near the underside. We can't leave her crickets on the ground because Stumpy is a pig and usually eats everything. We drop it in the hole but we never see her eat. I looked at her today and she looked a bit thin (by thin I meant flat, width-wise she looks like a normal house gecko) Stumpy doesn't "mate" with her much anymore, but I think he actually attacks her because I saw once and he bit the back of her neck and she was making clicking noises and only did that when he attacked her.
We were thinking of putting a divider in the tank. Putting her in another tank isn't an option right now because we don't have another tank. Will she come out more? How do we know she's getting enough nutrition (such as how plump should she be if she's eating enough?) I really hope putting her with my anole hasn't been cruel as I've seen house geckos with anoles all the time in pet stores and they say they get along great.
Those are some good suggestions. I think I'll try feeding her with the tweezers to make sure she's eating and I'll try separating them asap. Any other new ideas are welcome but I think I'm pretty set what I'm going to do. Thanks =)
