Insightful perspective from an MPA

One MPA I see on a semi-regular basis told me a little story that puts perspective into what the MPA thinks about their career choice.

She told me that a new MPA asked another veteran MPA how long she has been massaging for a living. The veteran MPA said about 5 years now. The new MPA said, "Wow, 5 years! Isn't your wrist messed up after that long?" The veteran MPA retorted, "My wrist is fine; it's my mind that's messed up from this job?" lol

What is so "insightful" about this perspective? If it is
indeed truthful would it mean many if not most
veteran MPAs are fxxxed up?

The few MPAs I see regularly are veterans.
Like most of the others
in the business they all look forward to quittting
their job one day for a non-MPA job. One told me
'I am not proud of what I am doing' the other confided
to me 'I don't want to make my living on a job that
requires me taking my clothes off for any one who pays
again' It is no surprise that they all actively look for
other career opportunities. One is going to thearapy
school in her days off; one is upgrading her
cooking skills for a career in
food catering, the other is planning to go back to
college.

In spite of their strong desire to quit some day all of my ladies
provide me with consistently better services than
most inexperienced MPAs without having to resort to
emotionally dishonest tricks so common in such
a mercenary business. To me they are nowhere
nearly messed up but rather human beings with incredibly
inner strength.

On the other hand, a lot of them couldn't get out of the business because they are so used to the fast money. As we all know, this industry ain't paying minimum wage. For someone earning at this level to go back to earning $8-$10 is difficult. I think many of them have no choice but to stay in the business as this is the only way to afford the life they are at. I don't particular choose to agree or disagree with this since this a choice one has to make. Afterall, it's a job! It's just an altered form of selling xxx.

Here is a little story that will make you go hmmm..... I still think "FUCK, should of been a woman!".
Saw an MPA, first time w/her and asked the usual questions: 1) Why did you get into this business?, 2) Do you like what you do?, 3) How long do you see yourself doing this?
Her answer: 1) "Well I figure since I want to make tons of money fast which industry is most popular?...SEX (obviously since this world is dominated by males" 2) "Whether I enjoy it or not doesn't matter, it's my job. Who actually likes their job" 3) As long as I can get away with it. Unless there's something else that pays this much this fast".

I still wonder why men don't have it that easy...

Women are smart enough to not always give it away. We help them by screaming things like "sluts, whores" whenever they do. So we socially police behavior thereby shooting ourselves in the foot !!! I have talked to more than a few hippies, who told me ...during the sexual revolution love was more free, women were encouraged to experiement, and they had one hell of a great time.

It is insightful only because we don't generally hear the MPA's side of the story about their jobs. Most MPA's do not admit they dislike their jobs because they know that may jeopardize a repeat from the client...guys in general do not want to hear they do not enjoy what they are doing as this takes away that sought- after level intimacy we all long for. I would not repeat if the MPA continually complains about her job...makes you feel like just another Joe on her assembly line.

I've always thought that such pointed questions uttered @ first contact with an MPA would lead to a most pissed off girl thinking "who the f*** are you"

I usually leave that sort of dialogue for a time the lady feels comfortable enough with me to bring up theses topics herself.

Tony, over the years I've met a lot of ladies in the business. Everyone of them is doing it for the money. The smart ones save their money while the careless ones spend it as soon as they leave. None of them are doing this because its something they really love to do. The ones that really love it don't charge for it if you know what I mean.

It is easy money for them while they are in their prime but it does take its toll on them mentally more so than physically.

Review boards also take their toll on some of the ladies that do come here and read comments about them. Which is why sometimes I get so ticked off at people who constantly whine about the same girl. These people who are always quick to put down some people need a wake up call. They have no idea how much some of their comments can hurt and I'm not talking monitary wise. It's almost as if they have an axe to grind and its really not fair to the lass in question. Most of them cannot respond to direct criticism and those that spring to their defense are accused of being shills.

If you didnt have a great session, fine, state that but don't drag it on and on and on and on.

I can't understand this but have seen it time and time again. All sex workers should be taking money management courses. So many earn so much with nothing to show for all the mind numbing work at the end.

BB: I think anyone who has what they consider large amounts of $ suddenly at their disposal goes through a period of wreckless spending.

The outcome is either to get used to the lifestyle, or come to the understanding that this isnt an endless river of cash, and start stashing some.

When I was in university I had a neighbor (and student) who was a dancer. She was one smart cookie, majoring in nursing. We hung out all the time, and yapped about investments, future plans,ect. What you say is true. She did spend big at first, but after about 2 semesters of that, she stopped .

The sex biz can be seen like an athletic career. You can make tons but the length of time is limited. After 6 years of dancing she had paid off all her education and has over 200K in safety deposit boxes ( I wouldn't have believed it but I was the guy she called to accompany her to the bank for the deposits). I also re-counted her cash before each deposit ( I was dating a fellow dancer at the time...and was the only one on campus that knew what she was doing). In the 4 summer months she would deposit 30K. That's after expenses!!! She would get there at 1 pm and leave after last call (12 hour shifts). During school she made much less, and would only put aside about 1K a month.

Most dancers burn out after a year or two of this, but she had the brains to know a good thing. She is now totally fried from the business, but has a degree in nursing and is doing fine.

Being female in university opens this option. There were nights where we would be hanging out having a couple of beers. She'd get a call from a dancer friend about one of her regulars showing up...ruish over...spend about 1.5 hours with him+ hustle for a few more dances and come home. Total time = 2.5 hours, total take $300. This happened every couple of weeks.

Meanwhile I was working at the academic writing center making appointments and doing my homework for $8 an hour. lol.
