Is video chatting make a computer got warmer?

Lately my computer gets shut down 15-20 in my video chats on Skype. And I cannot re-open it for about half an hour. I have a Samsung laptop and Samsung Recovery Solution program told me if there was a webcam,mp3 player plugged in I should take them off. And I also noticed my computer was hotter than usual during and after my video chats? You think the problem is about computer's fan?

I've been using the same computer and webcam (Logitech) for a year now. I've never had a problem like this before.
