Hi there i got this from the Materia Aromatica website
Floral waters or Hydrolats are the remaining pure waters of the steam distillation of plant materials. They contain a minute quantity of essential oil made of the very few water soluble molecules that contain all the therapeutic principles of the plants. They may be clear or slightly coloured. Their aroma is fragrant and fresh, reminiscent of, but somewhat different to, the natural aroma of the plants and flowers from which they have been distilled.
Stored in a cool place, they will keep for a few years. A sediment may appear after a certain length of time. It is not a sign of staleness and will not affect the properties of the water and the safety of its use. It can be removed by simply running the hydrolat through a sieve.
Good quality hydrolats do not contain any alcohol, solvent or preservatives.
Mostly known as excellent toners for the skin, they also have many varied uses: in the bath in addition to or instead of essential oils; in a burner to disperse a long lasting aroma or in a spray to add a delightful subtle fragrance to your home.
Hope that helps - their website is [link=http://www.materiaaromatica.com]www.materiaaromatica.com[/link] but you should beable to get hydrosols from any good aromatherapy supplier.
