The 44-year-old owner of a massage therapy clinic in the 2300 block of St. Laurent Boulevard has been charged with sexual assault, Ottawa police said Thursday.

Police said in a release that the investigation began in March in connection with an incident that was alleged to have occurred in mid-January.

Akram Elmuradi is charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of obstructing police.

Sexual assault detectives say they are concerned there could be other victims.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service sexual assault and child abuse unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5944.
