A massage therapist in Jackson has been arrested and charged with sexual assault, police said Thursday.Michael "Chip" Diamond, 69, of Madison, was charged with six counts of sexual assault and six counts of simple assault. One of the victims is a licensed massage therapist herself and immediately reported the incident to hotel staff and then police.The second victim contacted police several days after her massage. After a two-month investigation, police obtained warrants for Diamond's arrest. Police said he was taken into custody Thursday without incident.The Christmas Farm Inn and Spa said Diamond is no longer employed there, and it's cooperating fully with the investigation.All charges are Class A misdemeanors punishable by up to a year in jail and a $2,000 fine each. Anyone convicted of sexual assault is also required to register as a sex offender for 10 years.Police are asking anyone who may have had a similar experience to talk to investigators."There could be victims of offenses that have not reported then, they may not have reported them for a number of reasons. We encourage anyone that feels like they may have been violated, had similar circumstances, or are unsure if they may have been violated, to give us a call," Perley said. His arraignment is scheduled for Feb. 13.
