As an investigation into alleged sexual assaults at a Surrey clinic continues on, investigators are seeking to determine if there are any other victims.
Surrey RCMP stated on February 5 that they received reports of two alleged sexual assault that took place in January at the Healthland Clinic (7128 King George Boulevard, Surrey).
In both cases, an employee allegedly sexually assaulted the victims while they were receiving massage treatment.
The suspect is described as a 48-year-old Asian male who has been released pending further investigation.
Police are not releasing his identity at the moment as charges haven’t been laid yet.
Investigators believe there may be other victims.
The suspect performed massage at the Surrey location as well as Healthland Clinic’s other location at 130–555 6th Street in New Westminster.
Surrey RCMP Const. Richard Wright stated in a news release that anyone who reports a sexual assault will be provided emotional support through the investigation and court processes.
Anyone with information, or who may have been a victim of a similar offence at these clinics, is asked to contact Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or New Westminster Police at 604-525-5411.
In August, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) stated that 33-year-old massuer was arrested for alleged sexual assault during massage at a residence in Downtown Vancouver. Then in September, the VPD announced that 61-year-old masseur was arrested after allegedly sexual assaulting a female customer at the Toe to Soul Relax Lounge in Fairview.
