Dito. I've always wondered about that place as well. What is the difference between there and other AMP?

the midnight cowboy......where to start.........
The Cowboy has been in their location for the past 20 years that I know of. The building has looked like it is about to fall down for the past 20 years.

It is safe to the extent that you enter through the alley entrance, so depending on the time of day you go, be aware of that you will be walking in a alleyway.

ring the bell, mamasan will let you in, escort you to a room. You play AMP Roulette. Never know who is going to walk through that door. There is no line-up as in some AMP;s. She could be 50 years old or 21 years old. You take your chances.

How this place has existed in downtown Austin all these years amazes me, almost as much as all the crack dealers around the police station.....

If you are drunk and horny and its too late to call anyone; stop in and take a chance, otherwise, read the reviews on the AMP's in this section, find the one that suits you as far as location, ladies, etc.

Standard pricing at the Cowboy and everwhere else is usually 160, some may vary a little bit.

You will notice when a particular lady rotates through town like Ivy or Yummi or Cindy, the guys are usually pretty good about posting a review to let everyone know they are back in town.

What runswithscissors is right on. "Like a box of chocolates, you never know what you'll get" The only problem I have had is, the girl always wants more money. Last time I was there the girl wanted $$plus, but settled for the $.6 Most of the time the girls were 7's or 8's, but one or two were 4's in looks. One time when I left after a session I walked into two LE in the alley. We said 'Hi' and I went on my merry way.

Such a damn coincidence. I live downtown and had always noticed the sign, but didn't realize it was an AMP until Sunday (Mother's Day - I'm sure there's some irony in finding an AMP on Mother's Day) when trying to find a bite to eat on 6th. Since there were no reviews, I was going to throw a post up and kept forgetting.

So do you pay house fee to mamisan + tip to girl, or is it all negotiated with the girl? And...I don't really care too much for not having an option or choice (other than to just leave).

Probably won't go, then.

I've been there many times through the years. Always had a good expierance. The Camera's now on the street behind I don't like since they knocked the building down on the other side of the alley. I don't think they answer the front door any more. I stood out there ringing the buzzer for 5 minutes one time before I knew the alley trick.

It's a Korean place. They are always very nice to you. MaMaMia takes you to the room and in a few minutes a sweetie comes in and asks what you want, you pay then. You pay for 'Do a little dance, get down tonight'. The rest is how much they like you!!!!!.

I think Midnight Cowboy is just one of those austin institutions that as long as you live it alone it leaves you alone, so hence why LE hasn't and won't mess with it. It's 6th st dirty little secret! I laugh when I see someone ringing the front door. I mean full on nelson from the Simpsons "HA HA!"

You can't beat the MC for spur of the moment fun downtown. Name another block in this city where you can get a burger, see a movie and have a 30 min quickie for less than 2 bills.

I've been to the cowboy a few times over the years. Usually older ladies and quick service. I like the other amps in austin. MC is too close to the action and I always worry about running into someone I know coming out. I've always wondered how they stay in business while others get busted. I even remember reading an article or seeing a link about this place and some tv show person doing an expose on them. Yet they continue to march on.

I have not been there in many a year, but when I've visited there was no upselling or further requests for money. It was reliable and FS with some nice girls who were very encouraging and convinced me they enjoyed what they were doing. Maybe that's changed for all I know if it today.

There's a lesson to be learned here as to why this place has been trouble-free for so long while others have had LE issues, sometimes serious.

Just goes to show you that if an operation goes about its business so that it garners no complaints, and the owners are not involved in other questionable matters, LE here will not bother it at all, even if it's in the heart of the tourist section of town.

So, I tried this place tonight. I approached from the rear and was greeted by a lady at the car port. She told me she had a new "young" girl. I was looking for a girl around 19-20. Instead, i got a 40 flower door fee and a 50 year old wanna be young girl. Wow... needless to say.. i took my loss and walked out.

Been there several times over the years...last time, believe it or not, about 10 years ago.....Always a great experience !!!
