MUMBAI: The Mumbai Police in two separate raids busted prostitution rackets in Sakinaka and Oshiwara run under the banner of massage parlours and arrested six women. The police are on the look out for the owners of these spas.
This could just be the tip of the iceberg as there are innumerable dodgy spas flourishing in the city particularly in the western suburbs and are indulging in all kinds of illegal activities under the guise of massage spas. Police have arrested six girls and have booked them under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking act (PITA).
In the first raid, the officers of Oshiwara received a tip off that the female masseuse at SIAM Spa in Oshiwara in Andheri was indulging in soliciting customers in the name of body massages. A police team led by woman officers sent a dummy customer and caught the girls indulging in sexual activities inside the small cubical cabins. They arrested two women from the den.
In another similar raid, the Sakinaka police raided Akvam Spa near a picnic spot at Powai and arrested two women indulging in sexual activities with clients inside the spa during the massage sessions.
