NOPE, not cheating. And you are alll good; from your question, to your guy recognizing that he was afraid of losing you, to you not seeing it as cheating (cuz it isnt) and because it was when you first started dating, because that was early on, and men do that early on... they still keep their options open. Then comes what rarely happens to men (which is great because it happened to you!) when he said he was afraid of LOSING his girl... Good for you, because a lot of young women these days DONT recognize all of the above; good for you, because it's all good, and you are being smart about a guy, and intelligent in realizing all of it! ;)
