I never post reviews because every MP I frequent has been reviewed a million times. I have a few places I frequent (Yonge & Eg. area) and have been more than happy with the services I've discovered using this site (Anna & Lucy primarily). I finally ventured to Sophie's Day Spa after reading numerous glowing reviews - especially regarding Jean. I'm not sure if this is simply a rant or a warning to people venturing there for the first time - but here goes.
I walk in and am warmly greeted and escorted to a room. It goes as I expect - talk about how long I want, I pay, she leaves, I get on the table. No big deal. She starts the massage, but is interupted by a few cellphone calls and knocks on the door. This is par for the course and I never get bothered by it. The problem is that she puts the phone next to my ear on the table so that everytime it rings, well, it startles the hell out of me.
Getting back to it, she attempts some small talk asking me if I had been there before. I said it was my first time which prompted her to tell me that since it's my first time, I'm the boss and to tell her what I wanted/liked. I said something to the effect - 'oh, a nice medium massage all over.'
She repeats this questioning over and over again. "Your the boss, what do you like..." I'm not certain why she keeps asking so I finally get slightly (sort-of) more specific, 'Oh, a nice medium massage all over. Back and front. Work your magic!'
To make an already long story shorter, she must have asked this at least a dozen times. I have no idea how long I've been laying on my stomach because of all the interuptions and questioning. Eventually, she tells me I have 15 minutes left and if I would like to flip over. I've given up, this massage is going nowhere - no sensual lead up to the flip or anything to get me excited. This is where is gets worse.
She proceed to grill me, accusing me of being an undercover cop. I did my best to assure her that I was not, but that didn't work. This went on for what seemed like an eternity. She was not yelling, but she was clearly mad and was looking to run out the clock as she lightly massaged my feet. In my last attempt to prove I was not LE, I clarified an earilier statement. I said that this was my first time HERE, but I have been to many MP. I named a few including Wendy's which helped (but only a little). She further grilled me on prices that I'm used to paying, how much I tip, who's massaged me in the past ALL while she decides to start jackhammering me. It was like trying to have sex while doing a math exam.
She apologized repeatly as I got dressed and told me that if I came back she would "rock my world" and to ask for Jean. THIS was the famous Jean!! Dear god!! Worst experience ever.
I apologize if this is too much of a rant but it is still fresh in my mind. If anyone goes there and they ask what you like, or if it's your first time - be specific, even if it means you sound crude (her advice)...
