Hiya
I'm researching examination methods and the future of national occupational standards for the UK, in particular for Reflexology, but touching on other therapies.
I am really struggling to find articles on this, I have looked at ITEC, QCA, ABC, Association of Reflexologists, Embody, Reflexology Forum, House of Lords Report, Prince of Wales Foundation for Integrated Health (or whatever it has been renamed to) and in copies of Reflexions that I can find, along with RIEN which represents some parts of Europe.
As many of you know, Reflexology is now not part of the negoitations for PFIH although it is working towards its own standards. I wondered if any of you have read any articles about the impact which the new proposals will have. I am looking in particular at CPD, general training requirements, examination methods and currency. I lot of what I know is hearsay, things people have read or heard, but try to find solid documented evidence for these things is hard. In particular I have been trying to find some writings on the impact which these standards as some have proposed that A&P should be 100 hours and Reflexology a further 150 hours plus case studies, as you can imagine this will have a great impact on the industry and feasiblity of training. I have also been looking at the market and trying to find evidence of average wages but any evidence I have found is over 5 years out of date. Not ideal.
Any suggestions would be really appreciated.. it's a minefield and although I know many people who can speak with experience and authority, I'm not allowed to use their opinions or knowledge.. Ho hum..
Thanks in advance for any suggestions at all.
