Neem Carrier Oil

I recently brought a Neem Carrier Oil (mail order) when I opened the packet the neem oil looked really thick and globby (such an excellent discriptive word! ) ok, so it looks like its co-agulated!!! and it smells rank! ([:'(])

is it meant to be like that?

dont want to look a fool when I ring them up and send it back!!!!! so though i'd check!

I bought some neem oil once for my dad to use on his psoriosis and you are right, it is solid, almost like a wax. I seem to remember that you can warm it up to apply it.

I have never heard of it as a carrier oil for essential oils and would imagine that you would have to blend them in with a spatula.

i think id have to whip it up in a paste! I think i did buy it for a friend of mine who suffers from psorisis, and so does a friend of hers, i was going to mix just a couple of e/o's into it - and after smelling it, im definately going to!!!!

Neem oil is an excellent moisturising oil with a wide spectrum of action and is highly medicinal in nature. It has been very effective in the treatment of head lice in children. Scalp conditions like dandruff, scaling and even hair loss improve with the use of neem oil, and yellow or brittle nails (caused by the presence of yeast or fungi) are normalised by its use.

Chronic skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis, eczema and ringworm respond well to neem oil. It is very effective in the treatment of athletes' foot, thrush, candida infestations and herpes.

Neem is an extremely effective insect repellent, without being toxic to pets or humans. For topical use the strong odour and colour can be masked by blending with another good quality vegetable oil and using appropriate essential oils.

I bought some Bach Flower, which are great. I don't know really much about aromatherapy, but I am learning if you need advices you can contact their expert (for free).

Slightly off topic - but just been to the Neem site, and seen it is very effective at Headlice treatment - as someone who battles the little blighters on an almost continual basis with my children, and refuses to give in to the dreaded chemicals, sounds like I might be giving their Headlice Treatment pack a go!!

A little late I think

Neem oil is like coconut oil - it solidifies at room temp. It only liquid above 25C. I warm my bottle up in my hands and then it's easy to pour out. And the smell is what I can only describe as pickled onions! And yes that is normal too.

I use mine for head lice, eczema, veruccaes, athletes foot ......... it's a great oil and I mask the smell with EOs and use other good bases to enrich.
