I was fortunate enough to make a recent trip Down Under and enjoyed exploring Sydney. Sydney's overall setting is very attractive. Perhaps it would not appeal so much to people who love rugged mountain peaks but personally I found the landscape very much to my taste. Like most tourists, I imagine, I was particularly drawn to the wonderful harbour. Surprisingly, considering it is winter there, it felt very warm even though I was wandering around the area without any clothes on. In fact the longer I spent there the warmer it got. I had arrived at Sydney with a small boat and would have loved to sail in to the harbour and even spent a night or two there but I was certain that the authorities would not have allowed that so I had to limit myself to imagining that particular pleasure. But although the boat had to remain outside the harbour it was still very well looked after. It is disappointing to see that for some time at least it is going to be well nigh impossible for Toronto residents to visit Sydney. Those who have never been should try to go before the end of August while they still have the chance. And others, like me, will probably want to make another visit before it is too late.
