Oils for the face

Hi all,
I hope this is the right place to put this question. Firstly, can I just say that I have recently joined the forum, but have been doing some reading of it, and everyone seems so lovely and frienly, and the forum has a really nice "feel", just what a newbie needs

I have just signed to do HEC and IHM, and also A&P (so I can go on and do Reflex eventually) and am awaiting all my course work. I have been treating my family with HEC's for a couple of years, but never done the facial/sinus massage part. Can someone please tell me what type of oil I can use for this.

By HEC I guess you mean Hopi Ear Candling - when I did the course as an adjunct to aromatherapy i used a nice facial oil such as apricot seed oil and put a couple of drops of essential oil in - but if you are not a trained aromatherapist stick with the apricot seed oil. Or you can use jojoba.

Hiya Izzycat and welcome to HP.

I do both Ear Candling and IHM and don't use any oils for the facial massage. The massage that I do for both is more of an accupressure massage rather than one you would get as part of a facial if you were having beauty treatment. In saying that I am not an aromatherapist and when doing holistic massage I use a regular massage cream for the face. Personally I don't like the feel of oil on my face.

you want stimulationand increase circulation when doing facial massage, so good essential oils for that are rosemary, sage, lemon, juniper berry. These oils are also good if the client has acne or normal skin. if the client has sensitive skin then just use a base oil (like coconut oil or olive oil) theres tons of info on oils and essential oils on these websites.
