Outer Ear 'Infection'?

Hi there, last week I was prescribed Otosporin ear drops by my GP as it's been a bit sore to the touch for a couple of weeks; he said it looked eczema-like. I finished the 7-day treatment around 48 hours ago, but it is still sore if I sleep on the affected side or touch it (I'm trying not to!). As it's the outer ear, I wondered if anyone could suggest a blend that I could gently sweep around the area with a cotton bud (it goes without saying that I'll not be poking around down there too much OUCH!). Any other suggestions would also be greatly appreciated.
