than to introduce something new? I'm trying to figure out the formal name for the psychological theory that says that someone is more likely to correct some mistake than to add new information... for example in a wikipedia article, if there was a fact listed that was blatantly wrong, someone would be more likely to edit the article to correct the error than they would be to edit the article for the purpose of adding new facts. The theory of course is broader than this and has applications to attention research (attention is more likely to be drawn to an error that exists than to the fact that something isn't there) and cognitive science... can any psychology buffs help me out?? thanks!
