i was just wondering what happens if your in a MP and it gets raided?? what are the consequences?? and on a side note are there any good ones in markham?? ive been to HFH and its amazing, any other amazing ones???

The comments are great since they all have some element of truth to them.

Your risk is very low, and it has to be a police (not bylaw) raid with bawdy house charges which is being done in the cities mentioned. You can be charged as a "found in" even if your just sitting in the lobby waiting for your appointment.

In reality convictions are rare but as in recent case your name can wind up in the media as a found in. And if convicted may not be able to travel between U.S. and Canada. I don't recall any confimed convictions but may be and being charged means you hire and atttorny and risk publicity with name in paper etc.

I'd stick with only licensed body rubs which substantially reduces but not eliminate the risk and stay in areas no big public outcry to enforce such as Brampton and Mississauga. But body rubs can't move to these cities since have long been at maximum in licenses, which makes existing licensed body rubs very valuable.

On the other hand it happens all the time in the U.S., where all is illegal and very aggressive LE in many cities setting up stings with fake ads to entrap hobbyists and sting escorts, frequent raids on massage places. In most cities very limited contact allowed at strip clubs.

And you don't get off easy like in Canada. I know of one gal who was convicted by a jury of soliciation solely on website using term "full service" and had the miniumum 180 day prison sentance! Served in Phoenix's hot "Tent city" prison in the heat of the summer with no air conditioning and very cheap food for inmates. Guys convicted wear pink jail underwear. Our famous Sheriff Joe.

You folks in Canada have it extremely luck vs ruled by the religious right U.S., but even less of an issue in much of the world.

If you're in a MP and it gets raided (not just by-law checking), then you're out of luck. Most likely, you WILL be charged as a found-in and your name MAY (or may not) appear in your local newspaper. I also believe that you can not leave the country since it IS a criminal charge. Best thing to do is probably say that it's your first time there and you have no idea what kind of place it is, although I think the chances of them just letting you off is still pretty slim. I'd stay away from the whole Markham area if I were you.
Got a stack of tickets while I was working there. All my friends got scared off too so now, we're all in Scarborough. Still the safest area in the GTA. Richmond Hill is really bad too. And North York is bad too. That's where I got my bawdy house charges along with most of my friends. If you don't mind travelling, I'd say go to Pickering or Mississauga. Those 2 areas are probably the safest you can be since they're licenced as "adult entertainment parlours" and the girls are legally allowed to take off their clothes. Pickering Angels, Allure, and Club 2 Mountain are probably pretty good choices.

Hi fellow massageplanet.netites!! Sorry for the confusion. I shouldn't have said that they were licenced as "adult entertainment parlours" since that is inaccurate. What I should've said was that the body-rub parlours in Pickering and Mississauga are only ones that are LEGALLY allowed to offer topless, nude, and nude reverse massages which is why their prices and services are listed at the front and in the rooms. (yes, the prices are actually listed as: $40 total for basic massage, $60 total for topless, $80 total for nude, $100 total for nude reverse. I've seen them. Check Pickering Angels and Club 2 Mountain. They even advertise their prices over the phone.) Toronto body-rub parlours are NOT allowed to offer T, N, or NR. So if the LE or cops were to bust into the room while you're getting a N or a NR massage in these 2 cities (Pickering/Mississauga), you will NOT be in trouble. HOWEVER, if they catch your MPA touching your "you know what", then YES, you WILL be in trouble since they view a HJ as a sexual service. Otherwise, NO... even if you are naked and she is naked, no problem. How I know is bc my friend was caught nude massaging a client in one of the 2 areas mentioned above and nothing happened. No ticket, no nothing. Because she LEGALLY did not do anything wrong. Anyways, sorry for any confusion I may have caused earlier. Wish Toronto would change their by-laws so that they're like Pickering's and Mississauga's.

I don't believe the Supreme Court ever ruled regarding massage parlors, only strip clubs but the same theory should apply.

It was the Ontario Superior Court from my info that qwashed the Brampton no nude bylaw. It didn't say it was OK or not, just that the bylaw had no business regulating what was a criminal issue, since that is not their jurisdiction (all criminal laws are national not made by cities).

But the point is while city of Toronto has a no nude bylaw, they will probably never try to enforce since could easily be ruled invalid just like in Brampton.

Good advice.

Part of the problem with all legal cases is that attorney fees can get very expensive to defend self. Therefore their is the tendency to take a plea agreement rather than fight what could be a successful court fight.

An agency owner was "stung" by an undercover who asked her about the business for his girl friend who was interested. He busted her for procuring... a risk every agency owner could face.

She accepted a plea bargain which included community service and the conviction being erased from her record. It was a straight procuring charge, not living off avials or anything else. All she did was be honest about the business with the cabbie who was a cop looking for drug busts. She had nothing to do with drugs but cop asked about escort business and she was just being helpful answering her questions.

So sometimes a plea deal can be best to save legal costs, but as you said you shouldn't just give in too eary.
