Review: Amy (formerly of Changs)

Amy has just recently opened up her own business in the Don Mills/ Eglinton area
it's called Amy's Chinese Therapy Center http://www.amytherapy.net/

The other day I was in need of some actual massage therapy, and decided to pay Amy a visit in her new place. booking an appointment was easy, as not so many people know about her place yet. that is soon to change for sure.

I arrived and was greeted by a smiling Amy, I had never met her before, but you would think we were old friends. she showed me her new place......two massage rooms, a shower room, waiting lounge and an office for consultations.

I was led to a nice large, clean room, soothing chinese music was playing, I got ready and lay down. Amy came in and asked what kind of massage I's like and I chose hard, because I really needed some loosening up.
towels are used to cover different areas as the massage proceeds, and hot towels are also effectively used. Amy quickly found many problem areas on my shoulder and lower back and proceeded to work them out. I was ready to cry uncle a couple of times, as her hard massage can be painful, but in a good way. I had selected a 1 hour session $85 and enjoyed the workout Amy gave me.

After an hour on the table I was feeling pretty damn good, Amy informed me that I was going to be sore the next day, but not to worry it would feel much better soon.


Bottom Line: Amy gives an amazing therapeutic massage I was invigorated and felt great as I left, my problem area was feeling better than it had in weeks.
the only comparison I can give for a good hard massage is from Lucy on Mt Pleasant. I will definitly be back again and again.
Amy is a very nice lady and very skilled at her job.

My happy ending last time I saw her: my back pain was very much relieved, I could walk semi-erect without shuffling along holding my lower spine! Speaking of semi-erect...the massage also took care of that nicely.

If you are looking for Nude Reverse, Body Slides or any of the other things [not] done at Toronto Massage Parlours....don't bother with Amy's. She does not do those things...she offers an excellent therapeutic massage by a very nice lady in a very nice setting. An hour well spent.

To all you new guys.

Be advised that Amy is actually a real doctor of holistic medicine, with medical certificates from China. Whatever she did at Changs, she did to pay the rent. She is making every effort to "go legit". I saw her last week in her new place of business, and after, she expressed the view, and I quote, "why do these guys come to me for sex, that's what the young girls are for".

If you're a long time customer, I believe you can expect the same services(and they were very limited), that you received when she was at Changs, or when she worked out of her apartment. If she hasn't seen you before, just be happy you are getting a tremendous massage, on par or better (IMO) with any RMT on the planet.

Amy also does acupuncture, and I plan to see her about some pain in my knees that traditional North American medicine just can't seem to help.

Amy is not about looks or eye candy.

she is about massage.

That said, she is about 5'5"...very slender...black hair...olive skin.

You would not give her a second look if you saw her on the street ( I hope that doesn't sound too harsh).

She has those qualifications from China, but not in Canada. She told me that she has never been confident enough with her English skills to do the exams etc. to get her RMT licence here. The massage is RMT quality, but alas, no receipt.

Recently enjoyed a wonderful time with Amy... one of the best RMT quality massage anywhere. Nice new place... clean and professional. I still prefer Chang's for the overall experience... but Amy is a close second.

Last week I also visited Amy for the first time ever and I also agree with everything written. The massage is well done and she really knows what she's doing. If you tell her your problem spots, she will focus on them with in great detail and you will feel like a million bucks!

I went mainly for stress and she worked my shoulders, neck and back really well which gave me a great night sleep later that evening, but I guess the one session wasn't enough for me as I still feel a little tight and tense. I'll have to repeat a couple of times to get rid of it all I guess.

Overall experience was great, I would not expect anything more then what I got, even if I repeat more often. Great job Amy!

I saw Amy last week. Thanks to everyone for the reminder of what a great massage she can give. I had not seen her for a couple years.

Now, has anyone seen the Asian lady who did the tuina style massage on Yonge, north of Lawrence, west side, a couple years back? I forget her name but sure would like to catch up with her.
