Soap making recipe.

Hiya all,

I was wondering if anyone has a good soap making recipe to share, and if so a good supplier for source products?

I havn't made any before and have a few essential oils I would like to use. I also have a few lavender/calendula flowers/herbs I could possibly use.

Hi Fleur,
Apologies I'm new to this website, but make quite a bit of soap, the quantities you need depends on your moulds, but I made a few with the following:
Honey soap base
Calendula petals
Orange Sweet Essential oil
Lemon Essential oil

Very gentle uplifting blend.

What type of soap are you interested in making? If you want to buy a base and add oils and additives to it, there are lots of places to buy soap base from, in addition to the ones fluffy willow listed, there's www.soapmakers-store.co.uk, www.thesoapkitchen.co.uk, www.aromantic.co.uk.

If you want to make your own from scratch, that's a whole other kettle of fish! I make my own soap from scratch and it can be complex but once you get into it, is very addictive. www.millersoap.com & www.soapdishforum.com/forum are both great starting points - loads and LOADS of info to read there!!

Definitely give it a go. It's lots of fun! It can be dangerous because of the caustic soda solution involved, but don't be scared of that, just take the proper precautions and it'll all be fine!

It's addictive though - I have a house full of soap I will never use all of!!
