SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — 10 Springfield massage parlors were found to have violated a city ordinance, officials announced on Friday.
The ordinance was approved last year, and led to the city having to close several businesses in early February. It requires any massage parlor that wants to do business in Springfield to be licensed with the city. The change came after police executed search warrants at some facilities after receiving tips from the public about possible prostitution.
