Tipping Protocol?

Just curious.......Do you tip before or after a session? I noticed in another thread that some of you said that tipping will get you better service, but aren't you suppose tip afterwards based on the service?
Also what is an average amount to tip?

Depending on the level of service and how satisfied you are....anywhere between $10 and $100

Tipping is not a chinese village...so if you receive good service whether it be in a MP or in a bistro. A tip is kudos to a job well done.
I find tipping on a regular basis does improve service in the long run.

It depends on your usage of the term 'tip'. Sometimes 'tip' is referred to as the amount above the room fee. ie. the 'tip' for a BS is X$, the 'tip' for a NR is Y$ etc. That amount is usually determined before the end of the session.

The 'tip' that is above the required amount paid for the service is at your discretion at the end of the session.

Have never tipped beyond the tip that is agreed to in the room, which is generally $60 - $100 above the room fee. Never a problem.

Depending on the MPA, she may request money upfront - especially if you're a new customer. If you are in the mood, you can give her a tip at this time (on top of the door/extra fee).

Otherwise, you can tip afterwards... when paying. But it's up to you. I rarely tip... only when the attitude/service is excellent.

Why spoil em and make all MPAs expect tips ; )

One should tip after the service has been rendered. You should tip when the service exceeded your own expectation. Regarding the dollar amount, just use your best judgement but don't over do it though. I agree with rolo514 that the service does improve significantly over time with tipping on each visit.

IMHO you should treat tipping the way we do in Australia, ie if you get good service over and above the service that you expect then a tip is a nice way of letting that person know that they have exceeded your expectations.

Tipping is always optional however it seems that in North America you guys tip your taxi drivers for getting you to your location (even if they don't take the most direct route), you hairdressers even though you hate your cut and the barman who usually doesn't remember what you are drinking anyway... so if an MPA does an outstanding job and isn't charging you through the roof to begin with then you should probably give her an extra $5 - $10

Tipping should only happen if the MPA goes beyond your expectations.

You could also tip if you plan on coming back and you want the MPA to remember you.(I know it's a bad reason but sometimes it works) But you better not wait to long.

One problem is some MPAs start to expect the extra cash.

The best tip you can give ..............Dont yank so hard! You're not turning butter!!!!!
